Firmware Notice: EOS R Firmware Version 1.3.0

Phenomenon
When the EOS R is used together with RF 24-240mm F4-6.3 IS USM, the following phenomenon related to the aperture value may occur. When the aperture is changed from the maximum aperture by an amount equivalent to one click only, the display of the aperture value may not change properly (not change) in some cases. In addition, when switching between still shooting and movie shooting, the display of the maximum aperture value may change. These phenomena are due to restrictions related to the display of the aperture values, but the actual exposure control is being performed properly.

This firmware update (version 1.3.0) incorporates the following functional improvement.

Adds supports for RF 24-240mm F4-6.3 IS USM.

The version 1.3.0 firmware released at this time is for cameras with firmware up to version 1.2.0. If the camera's firmware is already version 1.3.0, it is not necessary to update the firmware. When updating the firmware of your camera, please first review the instructions thoroughly before you download the firmware.

Notes:
  1. Together with the functional improvement this time, the user manual has been revised. Users are required to download both the latest firmware and the instruction manual. You can download the latest instruction manual from our Web site.
  2. Please use the latest applications with the EOS R camera that has been updated to the new firmware version 1.3.0. When using RF 24-240mm F4-6.3 IS USM, please use the latest applications as listed below. By doing so, images captured with the RF 24-240mm F4-6.3 IS USM will properly display.
    • Digital Photo Professional 4.10.40 or later
    • Picture Style Editor 1.22.40 or later
    • Digital Photo Professional Express 1.1.30 or later
