Firmware Notice: EOS 6D Mark II Firmware Update, Version 1.0.4

Phenomenon
Changes in firmware.
Firmware Version 1.0.4 incorporates the following fixes:
  1. Corrects a phenomenon in which in rare instances, the operation buttons and some touch panel functions do not respond.

Affected Products
  • EOS 6D Mark II

Support
Firmware Version 1.0.4 is for cameras with firmware up to Version 1.0.3. If the camera's firmware is already Version 1.0.4, it is not necessary to update the firmware.

When updating the firmware of the camera, please review the instructions thoroughly before you download the firmware.

Preparations for the firmware update:
Windows
After the downloaded compressed file (.zip) is extracted, a firmware folder is created.

*Extracting the downloaded file:
Right-click the zip file, and then select Extract All to extract the file.

The extracted folder contains the firmware (File Name: 6D200104.FIR, File Size: 30,466,176 bytes) and instructions on the firmware update procedures (a PDF file in five languages: Japanese, English, French, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese).

Before starting the firmware update operations, please confirm the contents of the download, and carefully read through the firmware update procedures.

Macintosh
After the downloaded compressed file (.dmg file) is extracted, a firmware folder is created.

*Extracting the downloaded file:
The downloaded folder is automatically extracted, and a firmware folder is created. If the download folder cannot be automatically extracted, double-click the folder.

The extracted folder contains the firmware (File Name: 6D200104.FIR, File Size: 30,466,176 bytes) and instructions on the firmware update procedures (a PDF file in five languages: Japanese, English, French, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese).

Before starting the firmware update operations, please confirm the contents of the download, and carefully read through the firmware update procedures.
